Worth the wait?

Ok, it's been a while since I last posted. In the meantime Akemi had some more firsts - first cold, first fruit, first vegetable, and it looks like soon she will have her first tooth too.

The cold didn't last long, but she made some loud coughs that echoed. The first time we heard them we couldn't believe she was making that sound.

Banana was her first fruit, but it didn't a-peel to her. Pear and yams are highly digestable. I think tomorrow is broccoli.

First Feeding

Today we introduced solid food to Akemi. At first she was quite coy about it and blocked the spoon with her hands. After some encouragement though she took to it very well. At the end of it she was trying to feed herself!

Roll over to a New Year!

This is Akemi on New Year's Day wearing her first dress.

Today she's six months old. Yesterday she was able to roll out of tummy time all by herself. A couple of months ago I taped her rolling onto her back, but it must have been a fluke because she didn't do it again until yesterday.

She must be maturing because yesterday she was crying like a baby all day long, but today she's a calm half-year girl (knock on wood...) Next week she'll probably start on other foods.
