"Fast as a Rocket"

Silvina got Akemi this alphabet choo-choo train puzzle for Christmas and right from the start Akemi jumped on board. Nowadays if it's not watching WALL-E, it's playing this game. She's gotten quite proficient in it too. She knows her abc's and can complete the puzzle herself, but she likes it if we take turns joining the pieces or jest with her with wrong pieces. Sometimes she'll jump over it, run on top of it, push it through "tunnels" and do things that the puzzle maker could not have dreamed of. My favourate was today when she grabbed a piece with two notches and put it on her nose - "I have glasses".

The other day I was drawing with crayons with her when she looked at the writing on the crayons. She spelt it out and asked me how to say it. I said crayon, and she repeated it. She has a very good ear because she can mimic most things on the first try. I have a water bottle with the word "Coronation" on it, and she was able to repeat it first try.

This evening I was getting her toothbrush while she was playing the puzzle downstairs with Silvina. Sometimes she likes to try to do the puzzle fast and I heard her say "I'm going fast as an airplane". Then I heard her say "I'm going fast as a rocket". I don't know if she heard it before or made it up. Either way, I was still impressed.
