Day in the Sun

I took Akemi to the Port Credit play park since the Sun was finally out today. She was riding her tricycle like crazy and flopped down in the car on the way home. I thought we would be out for longer but she was feeling like a home body today.

Dragon slayer

We went to the zoo the other day. It was forecast for rain, but we decided to go anyway. Last year it was so hot we were dying. This time we had cloud cover and a nice breeze.

Akemi was full of energy and running all over the place. She's taken to doing little dances every once and a while.


We couldn't find the fish this year. There were some fish, but not the big tank that mesmerized her last year. The jellyfish were pretty neat though.

Camping Excursion

We went camping to Bonnechere for three nights with a friend of mine from Ottawa and their two kids. I wasn't sure how Akemi would take it, but she had a blast. We bought a bug shirt for her to prevent the mosquitos from biting her, but it wasn't necessary. She has a super power of repelling mosquitos - not one bite!

Family Picnic

We had a family picnic today with races, cupcake designing, and other fun things. It poured in the morning, but brightened up for the rest of the day. Akemi got to play with her cousin Risa. The last time Risa came to town Akemi was too small so they couldn't do much together. This time they were running all over the place.

Birthday Party

Akemi loves George the Monkey. Since the last Birthday Party she went to (last post) she's been choosing the George the Monkey Birthday Surprise story almost every night before going to bed.

Thanks to the city strikers, we changed her birthday party plans and had a family gathering in the back yard. I bought a new camera on Thursday, but I still don't know how to use it properly. It took forever to convert one picture to put on this blog.

Anyway, Akemi's actual birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday Akemi!
